Coronavirus in Argentina: 166 dead, new record …

Another 166 people have died in the past 24 hours in the country. It is the highest figure for a single day. The report of the Ministry of health also reported 4,824 diagnosed with coronavirus in that period, bringing the total to 3,813 deaths and 206,743 infected since the start of the pandemic.

The healthcare portfolio indicated that 1,150 are hospitalized in intensive care units, with an occupancy rate of 55.5% in adult beds in the country and 65% in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area.

87.25% (4,209 people) of those infected today (4,824) correspond to the City and the province of Buenos Aires. Of the 206,743 positive cases, 44.16% (91,302) were discharged.

The afternoon report on Monday stated that 76 men died, 45 residents in the province of Buenos Aires; 24 in the province of the City of Buenos Aires (CABA); 3 in the province of Mendoza; 2 in the province of Río Negro; 1 in the province of Santa Fe; 1 in the province of Entre Ríos; and 71 women; 41 residents in the province of Buenos Aires; 24 in the City of Buenos Aires; 3 in the province of Chaco; 1 in the province of Entre Ríos; 1 in the province of Río Negro; and 1 in the province of Mendoza.

The ministry clarified that a male person, resident in Entre Ríos, was mistakenly charged in the system as deceased. The morning party had specified that 13 men died, 4 residents in the province of Buenos Aires; 3 in the City of Buenos Aires; 1 in the province of Chaco; 3 in the province of Mendoza; 2 in the province of Neuquén; and 6 women; 4 residents in the province of Buenos Aires; and 2 in the province of Chaco.

Of the total number of infected, 1,123 (0.5%) are imported, 58,084 (28.1%) are close contacts of confirmed cases, 114,826 (55.5%) are cases of community circulation and the rest are under epidemiological investigation.

This Monday 3,158 cases were registered in the province of Buenos Aires; in the City of Buenos Aires, 1,051; in Catamarca, 2; Chaco, 31; Chubut, 5; in Córdoba, 133; in Entre Ríos, 29; in Formosa, 2; in Jujuy, 102; in La Pampa, 5; in La Rioja, 5; in Mendoza, 79; in Neuquén, 21; in Río Negro, 63; in Salta, 1; in San Juan, 2; in Santa Cruz, 27; in Santa Fe, 63; in Santiago del Estero, 1; Tierra del Fuego, 44; and in Tucumán 8. Meanwhile, Corrientes (-2), Misiones (-4) and San Luis (-2) presented negative numbers because they reclassified cases to other jurisdictions.

The total accumulated by district indicates that the province of Buenos Aires totals 125,114 cases; the City of Buenos Aires, 62,698; Catamarca, 65; Chaco, 3,702; Chubut, 292; Córdoba, 2,567; Currents, 195; Entre Ríos, 876; Formosa, 81; Jujuy, 2,481; La Pampa, 158; La Rioja, 352; Mendoza, 1,473; Misiones, 52; Neuquén, 1,224; Río Negro, 2,126; Salta, 299; San Juan, 22; San Luis, 26; Santa Cruz, 548; Santa Fe, 1,435; Santiago del Estero, 47; Tierra del Fuego, 644, and Tucumán, 266.
