The provincial Ministry of Health announced that from this Thursday, April 21, the second reinforcement of the coronavirus vaccinationby applying the fourth dose in the population from 80 years onwards.
The same is already taking turns and communicated by the channels used in previous opportunities, such as text messages and email.
In this regard, the Undersecretary for Promotion and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, Sebastián Torres, specified that “the application of a second booster dose arises from the agreement of the last meeting of the Federal Council of Health (Cofesa), and is intended to people 50 years of age and older; Health and strategic personnel; and for those between 12 and 49 years old who present risk factors. In all cases, they must have elapsed 4 months from the last inoculation”.
At the same time, he urged the population who has not yet attended to apply the third dose to do so. And he described the current epidemiological scenario, as well as the measures recently decreed.
“Vaccines are available. We have verified that they are safe, very effective and that, thanks to them, we have avoided a third wave; being today with low levels of incidence of the disease and hospitalizations, thanks to the immunity acquired after the mega-vaccination operation that in the province exceeds 10% in the population covered, compared to the national average, “said Torres.
He also added that the population of over 80 years to be vaccinated is 55 thousand people.
