A person may need medical care for a disease with a coronavirus of the Delta strain much earlier than with the “classic” version of COVID-19. Particular attention should be paid to the sick person for shortness of breath and pain.
How told in an exclusive blitz interview OBOZREVATEL Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases of the National Medical University named after A. Bohomolets Sergey Kramarev, the coronavirus epidemic in Ukraine has reached a plateau in incidence and may decline in 2-3 weeks. He also explained what symptoms should not postpone the visit to the therapist.
According to Kramarev, the course of the incidence of Delta infection has changed. And if earlier complications of the disease occurred on the 7-10th day of infection, now the patient’s condition may deteriorate sharply already on the 3-4th day.
He stressed that the infection at the initial stage can manifest itself as a cold. However, dangerous symptoms can connect later.
“The first symptoms that should cause concern are shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, incomprehensible dizziness, loss of consciousness,” – said the doctor.
He also noted that if these sensations arise, it is necessary to urgently seek medical help. And if the condition worsens, call an ambulance.
“Because the family doctors are now just a blockage,” he stressed.
At the same time, the physician emphasized that the temperature during the disease may not be high.
“In this wave, the temperature is not an indicator. And if it is not very high, it does not mean that everything will be easy,” Kramarev added.
How reported The Ministry of Health, in Ukraine over the past day, November 14, recorded 10 802 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of these, 764 children and 132 health workers were infected. Over the past 24 hours, 2 798 people were admitted to hospitals diagnosed with coronavirus, 11 219 people recovered. During the day, 442 Ukrainians died from the consequences of the disease.
