Aguascalientes.- The Secretary of Health of the State of Aguascalientes confirmed the first positive case of illness by coronavirus (Covid-19), in a man who was in Spain for academic reasons.
“He is a student who lived temporarily in Spain and arrived in Aguascalientes on March 12,” said the agency.
After the patient presented with symptoms, the test was applied, which was positive in the state laboratory and confirmed by INDRE.
He stressed that the necessary measures were immediately taken to keep this patient at home, in addition to searching for contacts who may be at risk.
The Secretary of Health, Miguel Ángel Piza Jiménez, expressed that according to the established protocol the patient is in home isolation.

He noted that the people with whom he said he had contact have been subjected to preventive measures.
In addition, he added, the search for the other passengers of the flight on which he arrived in Aguascalientes began.
On the other hand, he commented that health personnel will follow each of the steps established in the protocols of World Health Organization (WHO) and from the federal Ministry of Health, to attend to and follow up on this case.
He said that the sanitary filters will continue at the different entrances to the city.
He indicated that he will shortly summon the State Committee for Epidemiological Surveillance in which the institutions that make up the National Health System are represented to intensify the exhaustive search for suspected cases.
It will also call an urgent meeting of the state’s municipalities to implement extraordinary measures to avoid contagion.
