Spared in the spring, the Glycines nursing home in Guénange takes the second wave of Covid-19 full force. In a few days, the positivity rate of residents doubled to reach 70% of residents.
It was the screening of an employee on October 29 that gave the alert. The next day, massive screening revealed 22 positive cases. On November 3, a second test revealed 45 people with Covid-19. Most are asymptomatic; others have mild forms (fever, diarrhea, flu, etc.) Six people have since died. The nursing home staff are also strongly affected: half are still in solitary confinement.
The Theras santé association, which manages the Glycines, is still facing up in Thionville, in another establishment that it operates, where about thirty residents and nearly half of the staff are affected by the virus. The next screening will take place on November 25.
