From February 20 to 26, an average of 6,471 confirmed coronavirus infections per day, 30 percent less than in the previous week.
Because there are fewer corona cases, fewer corona patients end up in hospitals. In the past seven days, there were an average of 137 admissions, a drop of 29 percent.
Every day between 20 and 26 February, an average of 23 people succumbed to Covid-19 (-42 percent).
On Tuesday, 2,189 people with covid-19 were still in Belgian hospitals, 224 of whom were in intensive care units. Both numbers fell by more than a quarter in a week.
