MEXICO CITY.
Authorities of the Federal Ministry of Health and from the capital they are on alert, since at the end of January a person of Chinese nationality and who was diagnosed in Los Angeles, California, with coronavirus 2019-nCoVHe was visiting Mexico City.
According to information it is a man, 37 years old, who presented the first symptoms of the disease when he was in this city.
He arrived in the capital on January 21, stayed at a Paseo de la Reforma Hotel, visited several places in the Historic Center, entered restaurants, traveled in Uber and left Mexico by air on January 22, bound for States United, where they finally confirmed the condition.
Sources from the capital government indicated that on Saturday, US authorities notified the federal Ministry of Health about this situation.
Hence, the Uber company was notified, as it made use of this platform to move in the capital, and this determined to suspend the accounts of 240 users, as well as that of the two drivers of the units involved.
Meanwhile, the Federal Ministry of Health, announced on Saturday night, through a newsletter, that an “epidemiological investigation was initiated with the aim of identifying potential contacts that could have been spread.”
He points out that of the people identified so far, including the hotel and Uber staff, “none have developed symptoms of the disease more than ten days after their exposure”, the average incubation time.
However, it was indicated that there will be a follow-up until the 14 days have elapsed since they had any approach with the infected person.
