Coronavirus: CD Projekt donates nearly one million euros – News

Despite the implementation of telework for its teams, CD Projekt recently indicated that the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 should not be affected by the health crisis associated with Covid-19.

Besides that, the Polish company indicates through Marcin Iwinski that they have carried out a donation to a charity specialized in support for patients and hospitals, called Fundacja Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy (Great Christmas Charity Orchestra). The amount of 4 million zlotys (around € 880,000), this donation was made as follows: two million from the board of directors, and two million from society itself. In a message posted on Linkedin, the co-founder of CD Projekt says:

In collaboration with Fundacja Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy, a Polish NGO established with more than 20 years of history in fundraising for medical equipment, we donated today 4 million złotys to fight against the spread of COVID-19 in Poland. The board of directors and the main shareholders of the company donated 2 million złotys, and an additional 2 million złotys were donated by the company itself. We would like to thank all the brave souls who fight for our daily well-being and hope that these funds will help you in your efforts to get rid of the virus.

According to March 27 figures from the French Embassy in Poland, the country currently lists nearly 1290 cases of Covid-19. As for video games, the development of Cyberpunk 2077 seems to continue without too many problems, the date of September 17 being maintained for the moment.
