Confirmed cases of coronavirus in North Carolina have exceeded 500,000 since the start of the pandemic.

According to figures updated by the State Department of Health, 5,371 additional infections were recorded this Saturday, bringing the total to 513,930.

The Department also reported 6,526 deaths and that at least 3,023 people remain hospitalized due to COVID-19.

The authorities assure that the daily positivity rate remains at 10.4%.
