The video made by Niguarda on “Coronavirus and return from vacation” is the most viewed since the opening of the hospital’s Youtube channel. A brief recovery in which Professor Massimo Puoti, head of the Infectious Diseases department, explains what Covid risk behaviors are on vacation and invites you to get vaccinated against the flu. For the autumn, the advice is “anti-influenza and anti-pneumococcal vaccination for all the categories indicated”, such as the over 65 and the chronically ill. “Pneumococcal infection can cause septicemia, meningitis and pneumonia,” Puoti continues.

With the ongoing Covid-19 epidemic, defending yourself from other viruses and bacteria is even more important. «We must reduce the overload for diagnoses and treatments in hospitals – reasoned the head physician -. Mortality also increases in winter due to the flu ». This year it will be even more difficult to implement the vaccination plan.
