The positivity rate continues to rise
Last week already, the positivity rate for tests had crossed the 5% mark. This week, it has just exceeded 6%. Around 3.5% during the deconfinement, the test positivity rate had fallen below 1% at the beginning of July before gradually rising. It crossed 5% at the beginning of September, 6% in mid-September and exceeds 7% at the end of September. A peak of 8.84% was reached last Monday before dropping back to 7.35% on Friday. We observe
The weekly number of tests decreasing since the end of August
It should be noted that the number of tests performed each week in Ile-de-France also continues to drop, due to the overcrowding of laboratories, which may partly explain the increase in the positivity rate because the tests are more prioritized.

20-29 year olds remain the age group that contracts the virus the most, but the proportion of older people is also increasing slightly
In terms of age group, the positive cases detected still mainly concern young people, but less drastically than this summer. The 20-29 age group now represents less than 30% whereas it exceeded 37% at least in August. On the other hand, the proportion of those over forty is increasing slightly, as is that of those over 60. The week of September 21, 80-89 year olds thus represented 1.64% of positive cases (against 1.53% the week before), while the proportion had fallen to 1% in August. Note that from one week to the next, the situation is fairly stable.
This trend remains of course to be put into perspective with the spring data. At this date, the positive cases detected mainly concerned those over 50 years old. Below is the evolution of the proportion per week, since the start of deconfinement.
The increasing incidence rate in the elderly
This trend is reflected in the incidence rates (proportion of positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants). The graph below thus shows a decrease in the incidence rate of 20-29 year olds and a clear increase of over 90s.
