41,513 new cases of Covid the week of April 26: further decrease of 26%

41,513 new cases of Covid were detected in Ile-de-France the week of April 26, against 56,555 the previous week (consolidated figures from Public Health France as of May 9). The decline is accelerating with a further decrease of 26% from one week to the next. The number of contaminations fell to mid-slope compared to the peak of 84,180 reached the week of March 4.

1 ° the data for the week of May 3 only concern the first 4 days for the moment.
2 ° The data of the positive tests of the same week vary slightly from one week to another because it takes several weeks for the figures to be completely consolidated, which is why we specify each time the date of consolidation of the data .

Monday’s peak drops below 10,000

Regarding the week of April 26, partial data available on May 9 again suggests a decrease, with just over 27,000 new cases against just over 31,000 the previous week. Monday’s peak drops sharply again, falling below the 10,000 cases detected (9,191) against 10,533 the previous week. It peaked at over 18,000 on March 29. Since the start of the screening statistics, there has been a peak on Monday because there are fewer tests carried out on weekends.

1.33 million positive tests in Ile-de-France since May 2020

In total, 1,372,851 positive cases for Covid-19 were registered in the region between May 13, 2020 and May 5, 2021, including 533,371 in 2020 and 839,480 in 2021, according to data from Public Health France consolidated as of May 9.

Positivity rate by municipality

Nationally, the 7-day rolling positivity rate (therefore slightly different from the day-to-day positivity rate is 5.5% nationally, down from last week (8.3).

The incidence rate drops to 300 cases per 100,000 inhabitants

In the Ile-de-France region, the incidence rate of Covid-19 positive people per 100,000 inhabitants, which had already fallen below the 400 mark last week, has fallen to 300. For 2 weeks, it has been passed below the peak of the second wave (525 at the beginning of November). Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Val d’Oise remain above the Ile-de-France average while decreasing.

In detail, the incidence rate decreases in all departments, between 13% and 25%. The incidence rate in Ile-de-France nevertheless remains significantly higher than the national rate which is 191.7.
