Coronavirus: Appeal because of two newly infected people in the city of Salzburg

The health authority in the city of Salzburg has launched an appeal for people who have tested positive for Covid-19.

All those who traveled on August 18th in the Railjet RJX 566, departing at 1.30pm from Vienna Central Station to Salzburg, or who visited the restaurant “Die Cabreras” in Salzburg from 6.45pm to 8.45pm, should monitor their health.

Furthermore, the authority advises those people who were shopping in the Lidl branch in the Salzburg district of Schallmoos today, Saturday, August 22nd, to also monitor their state of health closely and in the event of coronavirus symptoms such as shortness of breath, fever, cough etc. to call the health hotline 1450.

The call was initiated by two people who tested positive. An infected person was in the ÖBB Railjet and was also a guest in the “Die Cabreras” restaurant. The second confirmed case is a Lidl customer who was shopping in the supermarket during the period mentioned.

So far 1563 people have tested positive

So far, 1,563 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the city and state of Salzburg. The number of people actively infected in the state is currently 151. According to the state medical directorate, 1,078 voluntary and precautionary tests have so far been carried out on returnees from Croatia. There have been four positive test results so far. 21 holiday returnees from the Balearic Islands have so far been tested as a precaution and voluntarily. To date, no positive test result has been recorded here.

A patient at the Tauern Clinic in Zell am See tested positive for the coronavirus. The health authority has started contact tracing. All security measures have been taken, operations in the hospital will continue without restrictions, it said on Saturday.
