Scheduled for September 27, the Berlin Marathon will not take place. The threat of the coronavirus pandemic has prompted German organizers to follow their American counterparts who have also canceled the 2020 edition in New York. Given the ban on any gathering of more than 5,000 people in Berlin until October 24, organizers have been working on other options to postpone the event. But the attempt to develop, with local authorities and experts, a health protocol to protect runners was unsuccessful.
