Coronavirus: a real-time map to follow the evolution of the epidemic

As the coronavirus from China spreads more and more to the rest of the world, a map tracks the epidemic in real time.

The map, available here, was developed by researchers at the Johns Hopkins University in the United States. It lists all confirmed cases around the world, as well as those suspected. It is updated in real time.

“We think it is important that the public understand the situation as it unfolds,” Lauren Gardner, who heads the team responsible for the card, told American television.

At first, the coronavirus was mainly concentrated in China, particularly in the Wuhan region where it appeared. Several other cases are also listed in neighboring countries.

The United States and Australia are also affected, as are Germany, Spain and France, which, after confirming six proven cases, announced five others detected in Contamines-Montjoie, in Haute-Savoie.

As of Friday, February 14, the toll of the viral pneumonia epidemic was nearly 1,400 dead and 64,000 people infected, especially in China.
