CORONAVIRUS: 7 health professionals from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté to support the West Indies

They are from Côte-d’Or, Saône-et-Loire, Doubs and Jura, active or retired, to commit to going to face the epidemic in support of local caregivers in the West Indies.

7 health professionals from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté to reinforce the West Indies

In order to cope with the health situation in Martinique and Guadeloupe, the Minister in charge of health, Olivier Véran, called on the voluntary service of metropolitan health professionals to provide support in the care of patients suffering from the Covid-19 in these two overseas departments.

7 health professionals from our region (active or retired) responded to this call. 5 of them left today for the West Indies, for a 15-day mission. 2 other health professionals are already on site.

The regional delegation includes a nursing assistant from Doubs, three nurses from Saône-et-Loire, Jura and Côte d’Or and three doctors from Jura and Côte d’Or. Their commitment testifies to the spirit of solidarity shown by our region.

The ARS thanks the health professionals and health establishments who have already mobilized within the framework of this exceptional mechanism and the ARS is already anticipating the departures of the next volunteers for the next succession with the many volunteers who are are manifested.

Delivery within a very tight deadline is coordinated by the Interministerial Crisis Center. Two planes were chartered for the occasion, departing from Paris at the end of the afternoon on August 10, one to Guadeloupe and one to Martinique.
