Schwerin – After weeks of compulsory break because of the corona pandemic, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s popular athletes can now get back on. For training groups in recreational and leisure sports, it will be possible from Monday to be active on sports fields and outdoor sports facilities.

That was decided by the state government at its closed conference on Thursday, the Ministry of Social Affairs, Integration and Equality said on Friday.

Sports Minister Stefanie Drese welcomed the further easing. “Our athletes have been waiting for this signal for a long time. I am especially happy for the children and young people who can now get started again in their club outside,” said the SPD politician.

However, the ministry has strict requirements. A sufficiently large distance of people of at least 1.50 meters must be observed. In addition, the changing rooms and catering areas on the sports facilities must remain closed.

Clothing changes, personal hygiene and the use of wet areas by the sportspeople may not take place in the sports facility.

Update, May 8, 5:28 p.m .: Union and opposition demand more tests when daycare opens

Schwerin – The easing of the corona protective measures decided by the state government triggered a broad response on Friday. Above all, the plans to further open daycare centers and schools in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania triggered diverse reactions.

The Education and Science Union (GEW) emphasized that the health protection of all those involved should be a priority. “From our point of view, this opening must now be accompanied by systematic tests, regardless of symptoms, at least of the employees, and even better of the children and adolescents,” says a statement. Sufficient protective masks would also have to be provided for all facilities.

In the opinion of the left faction leader in the state parliament, Simone Oldenburg, the new regulations in some areas are forcing protective measures such as the distance requirement to be broken. “More people at the same distance in the same space does not work in school, daycare or hardware store,” she said, referring to the lack of space in daycare centers and schools. The opposition politician also called for a strategy for testing.

Ingo Schlueter, deputy chairman of the DGB Nord, warned that the daycare centers should be opened cautiously with the participation of parents, employees and providers. Protecting the health of children and employees must remain a top priority.

According to the decision of the state government, the daycare for children will resume regular operations on Monday. From May 18, all 13,600 preschool children should be allowed to return to daycare centers for at least 3.5 hours a day. On May 25th, regular operations will begin, also with shorter and staggered care in smaller groups.

Kita operators have already raised concerns about the lack of space and staff. From May 14th, all students should be able to return to school step by step. Elementary school students should receive at least four hours of lessons per week in the study group, students in secondary schools six hours each.

At the same time, lessons are supposed to continue on the Internet.

Hamburg – Hamburg’s interior and sports senator Andy Grote (SPD) has announced that the team athletes in the Hanseatic city will soon be relieved. Individual outdoor sports are already possible.

“From next Wednesday, we want to release all sports outdoors if they are practiced contact-free and take place at a distance of one and a half meters,” said Grote on Friday at radio station NDR 90.3. It is then also possible to train certain elements in football, such as scoring a goal and passing.

However, do not play because they cannot take place without contact. Showering and changing in the club is prohibited, but use of the toilets is permitted.

The interior senator said he had no intention of sending the police to the squares for inspection, but threatened fines if the rules of conduct were disregarded. In a further step, the authorities want to deal with sports in halls and gyms. That should happen in the second half of May. The distance rule also applies here to avoid the risk of infection.

A concept for the use of outdoor and indoor pools is to be presented in early June. “The issue is not swimming. The problem is always changing rooms,” said Grote. In tennis, a double is initially only allowed if the double partner comes from the same household.

This also applies to the use of sports boats. Bowling and skittles are currently not possible. “We need good concepts there,” said the politician, referring to the distance rule.

Fan gatherings in front of the stadiums of the Bundesliga and second division soccer clubs are not allowed, said the interior senator and assured: “Then the police will intervene.” The clubs would have to pay for the numerous corona tests carried out by the 36 professional teams and their functional teams.

Grote: “It would be even nicer if it were paid for by the general public.”

Update, May 8, 4:43 p.m .: Karstadt fails in Bremen with a lawsuit against 800 square meters

Bremen – In Bremen, the department store group Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof failed with a lawsuit against the corona-related limitation to 800 square meters of retail space. The Bremen Higher Administrative Court, following notification on Friday, refused to issue a ruling against the federal state ordinance (Az. 1 B 129/20).

When the limitation was put in place, it was proportionate to contain Sars-Cov-2 coronavirus infections.

The administrative courts in different federal states have assessed the question of the 800 square meters of retail space differently. In the meantime, the federal and state governments have agreed that all large stores may open again.

However, the inflow of customers should be regulated, the distance must be guaranteed. The Bremen Senate has also announced that the 13 May limit will be lifted.

Hamburg – Thrombosis and embolism can be identified in many died Covid-19 patients. This is the result of a study at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, as Stefan Kluge, director of UKE intensive care medicine said in Hamburg on Friday.

Accordingly, thromboses – i.e. clot formation – were found in the vessels of the lower extremities in seven cases in autopsies of twelve Covid-19 patients. Four patients died of pulmonary embolism without any corresponding signs prior to their death.

The results of the study could also be found in further post-mortem examinations, said the director of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Klaus Püschel. A total of 190 Covid-19 patients who have died have been examined in his institute.

The results also have an impact on the treatment of sick people, said Kluge. “We now have the option to treat some of the patients with blood thinners. And we should do that.”

The fact that the first study of this type worldwide received only comparatively few autopsies is also due to the time factor, said the senior physician at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Jan Sperhake.

Had more cases been considered, “we wouldn’t have been quick enough. It’s that easy.”

Update, May 8, 4:26 pm: Four new infections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Rostock – In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, four new infections with the coronavirus Sars-CoV-2 were officially confirmed on Friday. Overall, according to the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) in Rostock, 721 people in the northeast have so far been tested positive for the virus.

The new infections were reported from the counties of Mecklenburg Lake District and Western Pomerania-Greifswald and from the city of Rostock. Vorpommern-Greifswald has 136 most confirmed cases in the country.

So far, 101 people with corona infection have been or are being treated in the hospital, 17 of them in an intensive care unit. 19 people died. An estimated 652 of the people who tested positive – regardless of the number of unreported cases – have recovered from a Covid 19 disease.

Mecklenburg-West Pomerania still has by far the smallest number of people who have tested positive and deaths.

Update, May 8, 3:20 pm: Lower Saxony puts pressure on visitors to visit Heimen

Hanover – Lower Saxony’s state government expects nursing homes to make more efforts to return to normal visitor traffic in the Corona crisis.

You should finally implement appropriate concepts with the health authorities, said the deputy head of the crisis team, Claudia Schröder, on Friday.

Since April 17, retirement and nursing homes are likely to allow visits again if there are hygiene concepts to prevent infections. Few homes have done so far.

“I would like to strongly encourage home management to make use of this and the health authorities are encouraged to support the homes,” said Schröder.

She announced that in Lower Saxony, unlike in other federal states, so-called visit tandems are not yet permitted as of Monday. It is about the fact that a resident can receive regular visits from a permanent person.

The reason for the decision is that most homes have not yet submitted the necessary hygiene plans, said Schröder. “It is very important to us that the homes are now on their way and check that.”

Update, May 8, 3:06 pm: Three infections found in 1,000 people in a row test

Aurich – In a corona series test of around 1000 people in the Aurich district and in the city of Emden, three infections with the Sars CoV-2 virus were discovered. This announced the district spokesman on Friday.

The people affected therefore work in the medical field, none of whom had consulted a family doctor or asked for a test.

With the voluntary tests, the district wanted to get information on how common the virus is in the local population. Another aim of the non-representative study was to find out whether voluntary tests can be carried out for medical professionals. The majority of the voluntarily tested women and men work in care facilities and clinics.

In a statement, the two doctors responsible for the study pointed out that the results were preliminary and had to be processed and finally evaluated. The low number of infections detected suggests that there may not be a critical cluster of undetected cases among medical staff in East Frisia. A voluntary offer for tests is possible, the necessary employees were found in a short time.

From the doctors’ point of view, many and targeted tests contribute to the health protection of people in East Frisia.

Update, May 8, 3:03 pm: Increasing risk of online attacks in the home office

Bremen – More digital attacks, more fraud attempts and other forms of online crime: Experts in Bremen warn employees in their home office about dangers from the Internet. Since many people in the corona crisis worked from home, attacks using phishing strategies have been recorded more frequently, the port company Bremenports reported on Friday.

For Claudia Schilling (SPD), science and port senator, she also deals with IT security. Phishing aims to steal private data from victims via fake emails or websites. The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has also called for increased caution.

In several federal states, fraudsters had recently tried to obtain sensitive information, especially with replica application pages for Corona help. Investigations are ongoing. But privately used connections could also be a risk, explained Bremenports: “Not all solutions have been implemented with due regard to information security, so that many cyber attacks target potential weak points of the same home office access.”

Unsafe passwords and outdated software are often a problem. You need more protection programs and more attention in your home office.

The boss stitch is also more common. According to cyber security expert Martin Kreuzer from reinsurer Munich Re, this trickery, in which criminals pretend to be superiors and have corporate money transferred to their account, increased.

Security firm Trend Micro said IT fraudsters responded to the pandemic almost in real time.

Update, May 8, 2:57 p.m .: Corona outbreak in the Steinburg district, according to the ministry, locally limited

Keel – According to the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Health, the sharp increase in the number of corona infections in the Steinburg district is due to a locally limited outbreak in connection with a slaughterhouse.

In the case of local and isolable infections, the protective measures only apply to the affected facilities, a ministry spokesman said on Friday. That was provided for in the decision of the Prime Ministers’ conference on Wednesday.

The district of Steinburg has taken appropriate steps. This included tracking contacts and strict quarantine measures.

With 87 confirmed current infections with the novel corona virus, the district of Steinburg in Schleswig-Holstein is above the limit of 50 newly infected per 100,000 inhabitants set by the federal and state governments. This emerges from information from the district on Friday. The limit for the district with 131,000 inhabitants is 66 new infections.

There were a total of 164 positively confirmed Covid 19 cases in the district of Steinburg. Of these, 74 had recovered and 3 had died.

Most of those infected are employees of the slaughterhouse in Bad Bramstedt (Segeberg district), which has housed a large proportion of the foreign employees in a collective accommodation on the site of a barracks in the Steinburg district. The number of people who tested positive in the slaughterhouse rose to 109 on Thursday.

Update, May 8, 2:38 p.m .: Boom in telemedicine

Hanover – In the corona pandemic, video consultations are booming in doctor’s offices in Lower Saxony. In the first quarter of 2020, general practitioners and specialist practices had 13 809 video consultation hours, as can be seen from figures from the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Lower Saxony (KVN). The NDR Lower Saxony reported on Friday.

In the fourth quarter of the previous year, however, according to the report, only 75 telemedical consultation hours were billed. Accordingly, psychotherapists for adults and adolescents (7504) and general practitioners (3838) used the video consultation hours most frequently.

The increase in telemedicine consultations is understandable given the number of suspected corona cases among doctors in private practice in March, spokesman for the Lower Saxony Medical Association, Thomas Spieker, told NDR Lower Saxony.

The video consultation could be a useful addition and support everyday practice, especially in the case of infectious diseases. However, she cannot replace personal patient contact.

Hamburg – The shared taxi service Moia will resume regular operations at the Hamburg location on May 25 with a reduced fleet.

The business area will be expanded to include the districts of Billstedt and Billbrook, Moia said on Friday in Hamburg. Initially, only five instead of a maximum of six passengers could travel in the golden minibuses.

Moia will initially use 170 vehicles in Hamburg, while until the temporary cessation of service on April 1, more than 300 Moia buses were traveling in the Hanseatic city. The offer is to be gradually ramped up again.

The existing mask requirement remains mandatory and the passenger compartment is separated from the driver, as in public transport.

Moia has again significantly expanded the protective measures for the employees, it said in the message. Around 800 employees will return to their workplaces at the start of operations.

The short-time working scheme will be maintained 50 percent. With the resumption of regular operations, night operations on behalf of the City of Hamburg end on May 24th.

Update, May 8, 1:16 p.m .: Steinburg district is above the upper limit with corona infections

Itzehoe – With 87 confirmed infections with the new type of corona virus, the district of Steinburg in Schleswig-Holstein lies above the limit of 50 newly infected per 100,000 inhabitants set by the federal and state governments. This emerges from information from the district on Friday.

The limit for the district with 131,000 inhabitants is 66 new infections.

Hamburg – The German championships in beach handball are canceled this year. The German Handball Federation (DHB) announced on Friday.

The tournaments for men, women and young people were to take place in Cuxhaven from July 31 to August 2. Because of the corona virus pandemic and the ban on major events until the end of August, the title fights are not possible.

“Unfortunately, a later appointment is also out of the question,” said DHB CEO Mark Schober.

Keel – The businesses in tourism and gastronomy in Schleswig-Holstein are now preparing for their reopening.

From May 18, they can again receive guests if they comply with the hygiene and clearance rules in the Corona crisis. Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) announced the timetable on Thursday in the state parliament. According to this, hotels, restaurants, holiday apartments, driving schools and fitness clubs may reopen under certain conditions.

The entry ban for tourist and leisure purposes is toppled, as is the entry ban for islands and Halligen. If the number of infections rises above a threshold value, the protective measures must be tightened again.

50 new infections per
The standard is 100,000 inhabitants within seven days in a district or an independent city. If the value is exceeded, locations can also be blocked. Company closures are also possible if cases of infection accumulate in one place.

Günther emphasized that maintaining hygiene and distance rules was crucial. “That will be the guiding principle for everything from now on.” That is why there are no capacity limits. Gaming halls and cinemas are also allowed to reopen with significantly reduced visitor numbers, including driving schools. Childcare in daycare centers will be expanded in two steps on May 18 and June 1. Events are again permitted up to 50 seats. Outdoor pools and discos remain closed until further notice.

Most recently, 16 new infections with the new coronavirus for the previous 24 hours were officially reported for Schleswig-Holstein on Thursday. Around 2400 corona people have now recovered.

Update, May 8, 1:06 p.m .: Exam start for high school graduates in MV

Schwerin – The high school graduates of the 2019/2020 class in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania started a multi-week examination marathon on Friday.

First, the approximately 6100 pupils in the final grades passed a test of several hours in the compulsory German. According to the Ministry of Education, exams will follow in the coming week in subjects such as art, English and mathematics. The written work will be completed by May 30th, followed by oral exams.

On Monday, German exams will also start for middle school. Around 4,700 pupils in the 10th grades will take part. Special hygiene and clearance rules also apply to these tests.

The exams, which have been postponed because of the corona pandemic and the school closures that have been temporarily ordered, are controversial. In view of the special circumstances, the state student council had called for the final exams to be waived this year. Criticism also came from teacher associations.

The final classes at high schools, regional and comprehensive schools were the first to return to schools to prepare for the exams in consultations. Minister of Education Bettina Martin (SPD) admitted that the exams had a special sign, but by the time the school was closed in mid-March, the necessary teaching material had already been dealt with.

Update, May 8, 1:04 p.m .: Festival MV pull the emergency brake

Schwerin – Due to the corona pandemic, the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival, one of the most popular classical music festivals in Germany, is massively reducing its extensive summer program and is planning to replace it with a festival winter for the first time.

The director Markus Fein emphasized that the health of the artists, the team and the guests had priority. In a video message distributed on Friday, he asked for understanding for the cancellation of the concerts and events for which a large part of the tickets had already been sold. But there will also be concerts in the summer, but smaller and partly as a live stream on the Internet. “Under no circumstances will we let the 2020 vintage fall out of song,” said Fein, who, after the jubilee season for the 30th anniversary of the festival, will be the director of the Alte Oper in Frankfurt / M.

The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival, for which more than 150 concerts and accompanying events were planned by mid-September, was to begin on June 13 with a concert in Neubrandenburg. Instead, there will be a “digital festival weekend” with live concerts, greetings, discussions and film reviews.

Fein appealed to sponsors and sponsors to increase their contributions, and to cardholders to at least partially refuse a refund. “They make a significant contribution to ensuring that the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival can continue to exist in the future,” Fein campaigned for solidarity.

He put the financial hole caused by the Corona crisis at around one million euros. With a total of almost 100,000 visitors a year, the MV Festival has been one of the largest classical music festivals in Germany.

The White Fleet in Schwerin was a little kinked by the announcement by the state government. The company had hoped to be able to operate two ships as “moving restaurants” on Lake Schwerin from this Saturday.

Now day trippers will not be allowed to admire Schwerin Castle from the water until May 18.

Brunswick – Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) has praised researchers in Lower Saxony for their quick response to the corona pandemic.

“The basic research and the infrastructures that we have set up here in Lower Saxony are now proving to be very flexible and quickly adaptable in the current situation,” said the head of government on Friday. Together with Minister of Science Björn Thümler (CDU), he visited the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig to find out about the current state of research.

In an exceptional situation, the HZI team changed its research within a few weeks and was already able to show the first promising results, said Weil. In addition to a tour of the research campus and a view from outside into the high-security laboratory, the politicians were also shown how the Sormas system works. This collects information on the spread of the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen in the population.

Recently, a team led by the Braunschweig virologist Luka Cicin-Sain reported that it found antibodies that could prevent the novel coronavirus from entering cells. The HZI, the Technical University of Braunschweig and the antibody company Yumab have analyzed 6,000 different, artificially produced human antibodies.

More than 750 antibodies were found that dock with the coronavirus – a prerequisite for successfully combating the pathogen.

Hamburg – After weeks of corona-related emergency care, the day care centers in Hamburg will gradually start operating again on May 18.

The five- and six-year-olds are the first to be looked after again, said social senator Melanie Leonhard (SPD) on Friday.

After a two-week observation phase, if there were no setbacks with new infections, the four and a half years could follow on June 8. In two further steps, the three-year-olds should then be looked after again, and ultimately crèche care should also be made possible.

A normal operation in Hamburg’s daycare centers is in the interests of both children and parents, said Leonhard. “But it does not help anyone if we jeopardize the health of the daycare staff or risk transmission to daycare centers through careless handling.” That is why you should proceed step by step according to a plan that contains two-week observation phases. “Then we would be at the cribs at the end of July if everything went well,” said Leonhard.

Hygiene and protective measures, the deployment of staff, the organizational design of the childcare facilities and socio-pedagogical aspects would be taken into account when deciding on further daycare openings. “The daycare centers have a lot of leeway – after all, the specialists there are the experts when it comes to childcare,” said Leonhard.

Emergency care had already been expanded on April 22. Since then, working single parents have also been able to take advantage of the care that was reserved primarily for children after their regular service ceased, whose parents are employed in systemically relevant areas such as health care or the police and fire brigade.

Update, May 8, 11:25 a.m .: The number of confirmed Hamburg corona infections increases by 18

Hamburg – The number of Hamburgers who tested positive for the new Sars-Cov-2 virus has increased by 18 to 4925 since Thursday.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 4100 of these can now be viewed as recovering, as the health authority announced on Friday. She currently assumes around 620 hamburgers infected with the novel corona virus.

According to calculations by the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), the number of Hamburgers who died from a Covid 19 infection rose by 4 to 187. According to RKI figures, 201 people with a Covid 19 infection died in Hamburg – 7 more than the previous day.

According to the authorities, a total of 116 Hamburgers are being treated for Covid-19, eleven fewer than on the previous day. The number of Covid 19 patients in an intensive care unit decreased by two to 46.

Update, 8.

April in Cuxhaven.
