Corona Virus Has Not Been Proven To Come From Wuhan

Jakarta, IDN Times – The corona virus was originally thought to have originated in Wuhan, China. It turns out that according to the World Health Organization (WHO) independent research team working in Wuhan, COVID-19 did not originate from the Huanan seafood market. According to their research results, the most likely market is the initial cluster of the spread of the corona virus or SARS-CoV-2.

“There is no evidence that the virus originated there. (But) hypothetically, all the conditions that allow it (the virus) to spread are all there,” said Vladimir Dedkov, a member of the WHO research team from Russia. Xinhua, Sunday (7/2/2021).

Even so, Dedkov could not conclude, how the construction of the spread of the virus from a market that has killed more than 2.3 million people worldwide.

Dedkov also denied the corona virus theory originating from a laboratory in Wuhan. After nine WHO researchers visited the Wuhan Institute of Virology a few days ago, he guaranteed the laboratory facilities did not provide an opportunity for the virus to “pass by”.

“It’s important for our mission to visit this facility, talk to our colleagues, and see how everything is organized there. It’s hard for me to imagine anything could leak from there,” he said.

Dedkov’s question helped refute the accusation that former President of the United States (US) Donald Trump had, that the corona virus was deliberately spread by China from a laboratory.

The zoologist who also helped the WHO mission, Peter Daszak, explained that the joint team had managed to find a number of important clues. The statement was made after the team led by Peter Ben Embarek visited the laboratory, the Huanan fish market, extracted information from witnesses and victims, and discussed with Chinese researchers.

“We sit with them (Chinese scientists) every day and check information, new data, then we go to certain places. We go every where and they are very open to it, “Daszak said as reported Business Standard.

One of the important findings to reveal the source of the virus was obtained from samples of residents who were exposed to COVID-19 but had never interacted with the Huanan market.

“We now know what we didn’t know at the time, that for every case there was another case which was difficult to distinguish from a cold or cough. So, unexpectedly, another case was admitted to the hospital. But how many others, when did this start, that kind of thing we are still working on, “he said.

The COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet but a number of scientists have warned of the threat of disease that is likely to disrupt the global health and economic order in the future.

Report United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) also warned of a pandemic threat from overexploitation of the environment, as the fauna began to lose their homes and then disturbed community settlements.

Daszak emphasized that another goal of revealing the construction of the spread of the corona virus is to prevent future pandemic threats.

“That’s what all this is about, trying to understand why these things are showing up, so that we don’t continue to experience global economic crashes and horrific deaths while we wait for a vaccine,” Daszak said.
