Teachers at elementary and special schools as well as educators should be vaccinated earlier. The federal and state health ministers finally agreed on this on Monday.
In the next few weeks they will still not get their turn, according to the Hamburg social welfare authority. The approximately 60,000 employees in Hamburg’s schools and daycare centers are now sliding up into the second vaccination group. However, around 200,000 Hamburgers are already waiting there. Because there is not enough vaccine for everyone now, there will also be a sequence within this vaccination group.

The over 80 year olds should still have priority with the vaccine from Biontech, or in the second vaccination group the over 75 year olds. The AstraZeneca agent is then primarily used for the professional groups that are now also called up. A good 40,000 doses of this can probably be administered in Hamburg in March. Not even enough to meet the needs of resident doctors, midwives and health care workers.
Vaccinations for pre-ill patients
People with serious pre-existing illnesses are then also on the list before the teachers. In March there will therefore be no offer for teachers, it is said from the social authority.
