Who is authorized to register for the vaccination – and who is not?
Anyone who works in elementary schools, kindergartens and special needs schools can register for vaccination – not just teachers, but also other employees such as caretakers, social workers, kitchen and cleaning staff or secretaries. According to the Thuringian Ministry of Health, primary schools also include the primary level at those community schools in the state that also teach the first four classes. The employees of the non-state schools are also included. The decision of the health ministers does not apply to the staff in residential groups and facilities for children and young people.

How are appointments made for the first vaccination and for the second?
The appointments are assigned on the Internet via the vaccination portal www.impfen-thueringen.de, always the first and second appointment together. The suggested dates for both dates are displayed when booking. Nobody has priority – all those entitled to vaccinate have equal rights when assigning appointments.

5,000 vaccination appointments will be allocated for February 28 and March 7 – is that enough for those entitled?
That depends on how many of those entitled actually want to be vaccinated. Education Minister Helmut Holter (left) appealed to the employees to accept the offer. A spokesman for the teachers’ association also said he hoped the vaccination offer would be accepted. According to the Ministry of Health, however, only as many appointments can be offered as there are vaccines.

If you can’t get an appointment at the vaccination center you want, you can try the nearest vaccination center. All this is possible via the vaccination portal. Another possibility is to get a Saturday appointment on an equal footing with the people in the first two priority groups. Otherwise you have to wait until there is another vaccine and thus further appointments.
