The Münster municipal administration is currently receiving numerous queries on the subject of corona (booster) vaccinations. The Standing Vaccination Commission (STIKO) had recommended on Thursday the recommendation for a so-called booster vaccination, usually six months after a second vaccination for all people over 18 years of age. Many citizens now want to know where they can get vaccinated.
The state of Hesse had decided on October 1st to close all vaccination centers and only allow the vaccination offers to be handled by the general practitioners. Due to the increasing incidence and occupancy rates in hospitals, the demand for vaccinations is currently also increasing. According to all expectations, this vaccination demand will continue to grow in the coming weeks if the corona rules are to be tightened, for example the expansion of 2G or the need for booster vaccinations.
The greatest bottleneck is the staff
“That is why the Darmstadt-Dieburg district is currently organizing, in coordination with the municipalities and in cooperation with the city of Darmstadt, a supplementary vaccination offer through the health department and external health service providers,” said Mayor Joachim Schledt. “However, it will take some time for the services that were shut down on October 1st to start up again. The greatest bottleneck is the (re) establishment of human resources. The vaccine is available in sufficient quantities. “
There will almost certainly be an outpatient vaccination offer in Reinheim again. Another consideration is to allow vaccinations to be carried out in all pharmacies. However, this is still open.
“In principle, all citizens can use all vaccination offers in the district and in the city of Darmstadt as well as outside, so they are not geographically bound,” the mayor continued. “For example, people from Münster can accept vaccination offers in Eppertshausen, Dieburg or anywhere else.” By the beginning of December it should be more specific how the expected increase in vaccination demand can be answered quickly. The DRK Münster has resumed its test offer in the Kulturhalle, tests can be carried out there on Tuesdays between 6 and 8 p.m. regardless of the vaccination status, prior registration is not necessary. The citizen test is again possible free of charge. “Many thanks to the DRK at this point,” says Joachim Schledt.
