Corona vaccination in Thuringia: online appointment scheduling starts again

The allocation of appointments for corona vaccinations via the online vaccination portal of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) has been possible again in Thuringia since Monday.

Vaccine delivery has arrived in Thuringia

The appointment was stopped at the end of January due to delivery problems with the vaccines. With the new delivery from the manufacturer Astra-Zeneca, the vaccinations can now be resumed.

The first 9,600 doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine arrived on Saturday. According to the Ministry of Health, further deliveries are expected this Friday and March 2. Then 9,600, 26,400 and 38,400 vaccine doses will be delivered.

Vaccine for people under 65 only

According to the KV’s health insurance physicians, the vaccine supplied is to be used entirely for initial vaccinations. However, initially only people under the age of 65 from the highest priority level are considered. These are primarily employees in the nursing or hospital sector. The reason for this is that Astra-Zeneca’s vaccine has only been approved in Germany for people under the age of 65.

The first major vaccination with the Astra-Zeneca agent is scheduled for the upcoming weekend (February 13/14) in the vaccination centers Apolda, Arnstadt, Bad Salzungen, Blankenhain, Eisenberg, Greiz, Hildburghausen, Ilmenau, Leinefelde, Mühlhausen, Nordhausen, Rudolstadt , Schmalkalden and Sömmerda are running. According to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, the vaccine should be used entirely for initial vaccinations. “We vaccinate everything we get,” said Jörg Mertz, KV vaccination coordinator. “We have ten weeks between the first and second vaccination.” It can be assumed that there will be enough supplies for the follow-up vaccination in the meantime.

Corona vaccination centers in Thuringia open after snowfall

On Monday, the Thuringian corona vaccination centers were partly closed due to the heavy snowfall. Most should be open again from 2 p.m. According to the KV, all vaccination centers except the one in Sömmerda will go into operation. Six vaccination centers had already started work in the morning despite difficult weather conditions: These are Pößneck, Meiningen, Suhl and both Erfurt vaccination centers. The vaccination practice in Jena-Lobeda has also been open again since Monday lunchtime.
