Due to the persistently high incidence values in northern Saxony, the district, together with the omnibus transport company “Heideland”, converted a bus into a “rolling vaccination center”. The vehicle is to be equipped according to the specifications of the German Red Cross and will head for the North Saxon municipalities from Good Friday. On Sunday, the processes in the Wöllnau hall in Doberschütz were tested.

Pop-up-Impfzentrum
For this purpose, the Doberschütz community has opened a pop-up vaccination center. In the community hall in Wöllnau, 160 over 70-year-olds received an initial vaccination on Sunday. The residents of the community near Eilenburg were invited to register with the relevant documents in order to be vaccinated quickly and easily.

160 vaccinations per day
From Friday the bus will head for the communities in northern Saxony. The mayors are asked to provide the citizens with an appropriate vaccination offer. If at least 80 people entitled to vaccinate show their interest, the city or municipality can order the bus and plan the appointments in detail. A maximum of 160 vaccinations every three minutes are possible per day. The vaccine that is currently available will be used. The second vaccination takes place at the same place after the specified deadline.

The mobile vaccination teams, which were previously mainly in nursing homes, can now also be active in the area and offer non-mobile older people in cities and communities a corona vaccination.

Of course, this only works in close cooperation between the DRK, municipalities and district administration, according to Emanuel, but is much easier to implement than a stationary makeshift vaccination center, for example.
