CORONA UPDATE March 10, 2021: 8 Countries with the Most Corona Cases | WHO prohibition on Covid-19 “Vaccine Passport” Page all

KOMPAS.com – Spread corona virus globally, it still continues to increase day by day.

4. Russia: 4,342,474 cases, 89,809 people died, total recovered 3,932,177

5. UK: 4,228,998 cases, 124,797 people died, total cured 3,315,934

6. France: 3,932,862 cases, 89,301 people died, total cured 267,539

7. Spain: 3,164,983 cases, 71,727 people died, total recovered 2,823,433

8. Italy: 3,101,093 cases, 100,479 people died, total cured 2,521,731

Indonesia

Case corona virus in Indonesia an increase was recorded, both in the number of cases, recovered, and those who died.

Until Tuesday (9/3/2021) at 12.00 WIB, positive cases of Covid-19 had increased by 6,389. So that the current number is 1,392,945 people.

Meanwhile, for recovered cases, there were also an additional 7,496 people.

The addition also brought the total number of patients who had recovered to 1,210,877 people.

However, 210 patients died due to Covid-19 infection.

So, the number of patients who died has now reached 37,757 people.

China has launched a digital Covid-19 vaccination certificate for its citizens who will travel across borders.

Reporting from Reuters, Tuesday (9/3/2021), this is similar to a number of other countries that have issued vaccination certificates for cross-border travel in an effort to restore the economy.

The Ministry of Consular Affairs, which is under China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the certificate issued would have details about Covid-19 vaccination information and the results of coronavirus tests.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the purpose of the certificate is to achieve joint verification of information such as nucleic acid testing and vaccinations.

The Covid-19 vaccination certificate also contributes to the safety of people when interacting.

Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe has allowed emergency use for four the Covid-19 vaccine, including Russia’s Sputnik V and China’s Sinovac.

Reporting from Channel News Asia, Wednesday (10/3/2021), this country last month launched a Covid-19 vaccination program after receiving a donation of 200,000 doses from the China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm).

Last week, India announced that Zimbabwe had become the first African country to authorize use of its Covaxin vaccine.

The Zimbabwe Drug Control Authority has authorized the use of Sinopharm and Sinovac from China, Russia’s Sputnik V and India’s Covaxin

“All approved Covid-19 vaccines will be obtained through the National Vaccine Procurement Fund which is managed by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development,” said Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa.

Still from the same source, French health officials reported that the number of people in intensive care suffering from Covid-19 was at its highest level since late November 2020.

To date, there are a total of 3.93 million cases of Covid-19 with an average increase of cases for seven days, stable at 21,333.

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units rose 69 to 3,918, the highest since November, in the last days of a month-long lockdown.

In the Paris region alone, nearly 1,000 people infected with Covid-19 are in ICU, but the government has no plans to lock down the Ile-de-France area around the capital.

France’s head of public health said the lockdown would be the last step imposed only if the hospital system could no longer cope.

A senior World Health Organization (WHO) official said that the so-called “vaccine passport” for Covid-19 should not be used for international travel because of many concerns.

WHO’s head of emergencies Dr Michael Ryan said, including that ethical consideration coronavirus vaccine not easily available globally.

“There are ‘real practical and ethical considerations’ for countries using vaccine certification as a condition for travel, and the United Nations health agency advises against doing so for now,” Ryan said.

“Vaccinations are not sufficiently available worldwide and are not fairly available,” he added.

The WHO previously noted that it is still unknown how long immunity will last from many licensed Covid-19 vaccines and that data is still being gathered.
