The number of unreported corona cases in Düsseldorf is apparently high. At least that suggests an antibody study that the city carried out together with the university clinic. The blood of two groups of people was examined for antibodies, i.e. whether this person had already survived an infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The participants also had to fill out questionnaires.
For the first study group, 2,000 people from Düsseldorf between 18 and 30 years of age had their blood drawn, and for the second, 700 employees from the rescue service. Result: in the first group, antibodies were found in 3.1 percent of the samples. In the second group, 4.4 percent had antibodies. In both groups, however, only a good 40 percent knew that they had previously had Corona. The study organizers come to the conclusion that more must be tested in order to miss fewer diseases and to be able to contain the pandemic better.
