According to the district office in Karlstadt, 129 people are currently infected with the corona virus in the Main-Spessart district. Nine patients are currently being treated as inpatients at the Main-Spessart Clinic. The 7-day incidence for the Main-Spessart district is currently 65.8 (source: RKI). 374 close contacts are in quarantine at home. A total of 11,437 vaccinations were carried out in the Main-Spessart district (as of March 7th), of which 8,136 were first vaccinations and 3,301 were second vaccinations.

The 7-day incidence in the Main-Spessart district was over 50 in the past three days. This results in the following changes:

– Contact restrictions: Relatives from two households are allowed to meet again – but only a maximum of five people. The children under 14 years of age belonging to these households are not included in the total number.

– Schools and day-care centers: Here, incidence-dependent opening options are planned from March 15. According to the current status of the publication of the Robert Koch Institute, the district office now announces the relevant incidence classification for Main-Spessart every Friday for school operations. These and the associated regulations then apply for the following calendar week from Monday to the end of the following Sunday.

– Retail: In addition to the stores that are already open, such as grocery stores, drugstores, pharmacies, garden centers and hardware stores, retail stores can now also be opened for individual customers for a fixed period of time after booking an appointment (so-called Click & Meet). The number of customers present in the shop at the same time depends on the sales area: only one customer is allowed per 40 m². In addition, the operator must collect the customer’s contact details.

Sport: Non-contact sport is permitted, subject to the contact restrictions (2 households, maximum 5 people) and also outdoors in groups of up to 20 children under 14 years of age.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 3,282 confirmed corona cases in the Main-Spessart district. 186 district residents died as a result of an infection.
