The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) has increased its growth forecasts for the German economy due to the waning pandemic. The gross domestic product will increase by 3.9 percent this year and by as much as 4.0 percent in 2022, IWH predicted on Tuesday. In March it had only assumed 3.7 and 3.6 percent. In 2020, Europe’s largest economy had collapsed by 4.8 percent due to the Corona crisis.
