Starting today, November 1st, the 3G rule will also be introduced at the workplace in Austria. This then applies to all workplaces “where physical contact with others cannot be ruled out.” For now, however, there is still a grace period until November 14th. During this time, employees who do not have a 3G certificate can also use the FFP2 mask during working hours.
From November 15th
But watch out: The end of the grace period until November 14th will also mean a tightening. Because from November 15th, only the 2.5 G rule applies to everyone. That means you either have to be vaccinated, recovered or PCR-tested, antigen tests lose their validity.
Consequences for refusers
Refusals, however, face heavy penalties. Employers who let their employees work (from November 15) without 2.5G proof are committing an administrative offense. Employees face fines of up to 500 euros, employers could even face fines of 3,600 euros. In addition, termination with notice is also possible as a consequence. However, termination without notice would not be justified.
