Corona, Texas – The speech goes around the world

There are many conventional ways people can share their views on the corona guidelines, but a dad from Texas went for a somewhat untraditional twist, reports The Independent.

James Akers chose to strip down to his underwear during a school meeting.

A school in the small town of Dripping Springs in Texas announced that the use of face masks will be optional for the upcoming semester. This caused Akers to react strongly, and he spoke at the meeting.

Striped to the boxer

Akers used their allotted 90 seconds of speaking time to come up with a point.

– I do not like that the government, or any other entity, tells me what to do, he says, fully clothed, at the beginning of the video.

The speech took a surprising turn when Akers began to take off one garment at a time.

– At work, they make me wear this jacket. I hate it. They make me wear this shirt and tie. I hate it, he says, at the same time as he takes off the mentioned garments.

Got cheers

– It’s a simple protocol, folks. We follow certain rules. We follow certain rules for a very good reason, he says.

He also pointed out that he has every right to drive as fast as he wants, but leaves because of the safety of others.

– On the way here, I drove right past three stop signs and four red lights. I almost killed someone out there, but God says it’s my way too. So I have every right to drive as fast as I want, and take the turns I want, says Aker ironically.

– I came here to school today, and the parking lot was full, so I decided that I should park where the hell I wanted – which in this case happened to be a handicap space, he continues.

The audience cheered for the man.

When he took off his trousers, the police officers, who were watching the school meeting, came closer, and were ready to escort him out before he possibly removed the last garment.

Chairman Barbara Stroud quickly shot in:

– Akers, I know you are a swimmer, but if you do not mind putting on your pants again, it would be greatly appreciated.

Akers followed the call, giving a “fist bump” to the officer who approached him, before returning to his seat, writes San Marco Record.
