Capacities for contact persons are available
Since the commissioning of the joint test center of the city and district of Würzburg on the Talavera on August 25th to October 6th, throat swabs have been taken from 18,314 people willing to test, reports the district office.
Since last week, doctors from the Würzburg Mitte Clinic (KWM) have also been helping children under seven years of age to swab from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day. Professor Dr. August Stich took over the first shift on Monday, October 5th, in order to be able to instruct his medical colleagues.
District Administrator Thomas Eberth thanked for the support: ?? Authorities, clinics, emergency services and doctors in the city and district of Würzburg have been working in crisis mode for over half a year. The very good cooperation and mutual support helps and saves lives.
Test dates for contact persons
For contact persons in category 1, the health department arranges test appointments at the Würzburg University Clinic and at the test center on the Talavera. At the test center alone, 240 test options are reserved for school classes and daycare groups every day.
Less tests without cause
The health department observes a decrease in the number of volunteers willing to test who want to be tested for no reason. Last Tuesday, October 6th, for example, almost 300 people had themselves tested at the test center on the Talavera.
At the beginning of October, the previous test center on the Talavera was relocated a few hundred meters under the leadership of the Office for Civil and Fire Protection Würzburg, and the area previously used was paved. After completion of the work, the test center is to be housed in a tent and in containers, winter-proof and independent of the weather.
The Bavarian Red Cross and Johanniter took over on-site operations on October 1st. The relief services continue to be supported by soldiers from the Bundeswehr.
