According to the district administration, these are an 87-year-old woman and an 88-year-old man from Wesel, a 29-year-old man from Dinslaken, a 69-year-old man from Hamminkeln, a 95-year-old man from Alpen, a 78-year-old man and two women (89 and 64 years) from Moers. The number of people who died in the district in connection with the corona virus increases to 424.

In total, the district recorded 1583 new corona infections in its weekly report in the past week. Since the beginning of the pandemic there have been a total of 121,999 confirmed corona cases (as of Friday 12 p.m.), an estimated 119,000 people are considered recovered according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). The district administration reports a seven-day incidence of 287.41 on Friday – this figure has fallen compared to the previous week (383.28).

How the new corona infections are distributed

This is how the new corona infections of the past week are distributed among the municipalities: Alps 37, Dinslaken 230, Hamminkeln 120, giants 47, Kamp-Lintfort 119, Moers 306, Neukirchen-Vluyn 92, Rheinberg 90, Schermbeck 61, Sonsbeck 40, fede 121, Wesel 226, Xanten 94.

As of Thursday, there were 48 corona patients in hospitals in the Wesel district – fewer than the week before (80). According to the district administration, five patients are being treated in the intensive care unit, one person has to be artificially ventilated.


To the background: The health department now only publishes an overview of the corona situation in the Wesel district once a week. Anyone who wants to find out about the numbers on a daily basis is dependent on the data evaluations of the state center for health or the RKI – but then only values ​​are available at district level. The district has not reported any current figures on weekends for several weeks.
