The number of corona cases is growing, and the incidence in the canal city has also been increasing for two weeks. In the last seven days (until February 24th), more dates have been infected with the virus than in the previous week, and the Recklinghausen district reports 51 new infections. Normalized to 100,000 inhabitants, this corresponds to an incidence of 146.2. For comparison: in the week before, the incidence value of the canal city was 120.4. 42 people had contracted the virus.
In the whole district, Waltrop (37) has the fewest new infections and Recklinghausen (153) the most. In Oer-Erkenschwick, 47 people have been infected with the corona virus in the past seven days. The district observed the highest incidence value in Marl: 135 people were infected here, the incidence is 161.3.
Since the outbreak of the corona virus, 244,867 cases of infection have been registered in the district. 1739 cases had a fatal outcome related to the corona virus. In Datteln, the district registered 12,076 cases according to the current status, and the 12,000 infection mark was cracked in the previous week. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 123 dates have died in connection with the corona virus. The district published the last two death reports for the canal city about two weeks ago: An 83-year-old man and a man aged 100 had died.
