An mRNA vaccine against the omikron JN.1 variant will be given in the autumn round. This vaccine has been adapted according to the development of the corona virus. The immune system is therefore able to recognize the corona variant and protect against serious illness.
A protein vaccine is also available. This vaccine is for people who cannot or do not want to get an mRNA vaccine.
In addition to health care workers, the following groups can also receive a corona vaccine:
- people who are 60 and older,
- people between 18 and 59 who get an annual flu shot and
- children and adults from high-risk medical groups (such as people with immune disorders).
