Bang with the low-cost airline: The British Easyjet wants to cut up to 30 percent of its jobs because of the corona crisis. The aircraft fleet is also expected to shrink instead of growing, the company announced on Thursday in Luton near London.
–
Management justified the cuts with the slump in air traffic as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and the expectation that flight ticket demand will not return to 2019 levels by 2023.
–
According to the 2019 annual report, Easyjet employs over 15,000 people (pilots, flight attendants, ground staff, back office). A third would correspond to a good 5000 jobs that would fall victim to the austerity measures.

Easyjet has reached an agreement with the aircraft manufacturer Airbus to take further ordered aircraft later than planned. (SDA / uro)
