There have been hardly any corona rules in NRW since February 1st. However, guidelines still apply in some places. Test and mask requirements are still valid here.
Hamm – The worst part of the pandemic seems to be over. After almost three years, the corona virus is almost part of everyday life. This is also shown by a look at the rules, which have been relaxed in recent months from “strict” to “barely in place”. In North Rhine-Westphalia, too, there are only a few guidelines.
Corona rules in NRW: the mask and test obligation still applies here
It is now official: On 1. February 2023, both the mask requirement in local public transport and the isolation requirement in North Rhine-Westphalia will no longer apply. The new principle is the personal responsibility that prevails in so many diseases. Anyone who is ill should show consideration for their fellow human beings.
However, the Corona rules are not yet completely over in NRW. In the future, many will probably do without constantly carrying a mouth and nose protector. Here and there there are still Corona rules to be observed:
- People with a positive corona test are not allowed to enter facilities with vulnerable people for five days (hospitals, nursing homes, workshops for people with disabilities).
- Employees in these facilities are not allowed to perform the service if there is a positive corona test. This rule applies until a negative test result is presented.
- Employees in medical practices and comparable facilities must continue to wear a medical mask.
- The testing obligations in hospitals, care facilities and comparable facilities remain in place. A self-test for visitors is sufficient if the facility does not offer a test option on site.
- Corona infected people are strongly recommended to wear a mask indoors to protect others.
NRW Minister of Health Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU), who indicated at the beginning of the month whether there would be any easing, is appealing to the citizens at the same time with the easing of the Corona rules. “It is now even more important that each individual takes personal responsibility. Anyone who is sick stays at home. This is particularly important now, and I ask all employers to communicate this in their companies to protect the workforce,” says Laumann.
