For a few weeks now, visits to most nursing homes have again been permitted under certain conditions. Nevertheless, many relatives fear for the quality of life of the residents.
Most residents of retirement homes in Lower Franconia have been able to receive visitors again since the easing in May, but the relatives cannot get really close. It is mandatory to keep your distance, visitors and residents must at least wear a mask. Touching is not allowed at all. The fear that the beloved mother or grandfather will degrade mentally and physically due to the lack of social contacts puts a strain on many relatives. In conversation with the editors, they express criticism of the general hygiene regulations and strict visiting regulations.
