In a second payment phase, the BKK Pfalz paid another 1.84 million euros to outpatient and inpatient care facilities. On behalf of the long-term care insurance, the BKK Pfalz ensures that the payments for the employees around Ludwigshafen and in the southern Palatinate reach the care facilities. Together with the 5 million in the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2020, the BKK transferred almost 7 million euros.

“Despite an increased risk of infection, the nursing staff have always been there for those in need of care since the beginning of the pandemic. They do a responsible and valuable job and deserve our greatest respect,” emphasizes Andreas Lenz, CEO of BKK Pfalz.

“We are very happy that we can do a little bit with our efforts to ensure that these women and men who are so important to our society receive financial recognition. The current shortage of specialists, particularly in intensive care, shows that it is high time is for a society as a whole to rethink the status and remuneration of nursing staff “, says Andreas Lenz.

The BKK Pfalz takes over the payments for the cities Frankenthal, Landau, Ludwigshafen, Neustadt and Speyer as well as the districts Bad Dürkheim, Germersheim, the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis and the Südliche Weinstrasse.
