On Tuesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU has agreed with Pfizer and Biontech to speed up deliveries of 10 million vaccine doses in the second quarter.
– This will mean that the total delivery of this vaccine is 200 million doses for this quarter. It will give our member states room for maneuver, and can possibly compensate for other missing deliveries, von der Leyen wrote on Twitter.
On Wednesday, Minister of Health and Care Services Bent Høie stated at a press conference that Norway will receive 120,000 more Pfizer doses in the second quarter than originally anticipated.
– We must be prepared for both good and bad vaccine news. Now we just got a good one. We will receive 120,000 more vaccines from Pfizer in the second quarter than we had anticipated earlier, Høie said, according to NTB.
Given that the vaccines from Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna are coming as planned, the plan is to be able to offer vaccines to the entire adult population this summer, Høie states.
– Good news
Press manager Joachim Henriksen in Pfizer in Norway confirms the increased delivery in the second quarter.
