Corona: PDC Home Tour – Luke Woodhouse throws a 9-darter in the kitchen

A 9-darter live in the kitchen – world class at a corona tournament

We have known for a long time that darts is more telegenic than any other sport. This also benefits the arrow throwers, where all sporting events had to be canceled. The association PDC organized a home tour on which every player walks to the window at home. Fans can be present worldwide using a webcam.

Austrian Rowby-John Rodriguez had to ask his neighbors if he could exceptionally throw in the evening – when the arrows fly into the board, the muffled noise on the other side of the wall is annoying. He was allowed to.

There was a highlight on the second evening. Luke Woodhouse, who threw number 4 Michael Smith out of the tournament at the previous World Cup, did a perfect leg. The Englishman scored 501 points with just nine darts. In the end, he beat Welsh Gerwyn Price 5-0.

128 players take part in the Home Tour, four are in action every night and compete against each other in a group. Because only the winner gets ahead, Price is already out, Woodhouse got three wins. Price, the last two-time winner of the Grand Slam of Darts, shares his fate with the reigning world champion. Scotsman Peter Wright had failed on Jamie Lewis on the evening of the start.

Rowby-John Rodriguez’s neighbors can watch television again in peace: The Austrian lost all three games and left without singing or sounding. (R.A.M)

Unforgettable

With Diego Maradona, even the opponents are amazed when he warms up

April 19, 1989: Diego Armando Maradona was the world’s best footballer in the 1980s. That is why all TV cameras are aimed at the Argentine – to our great luck even during the warm-up.

Olympiastadion in Munich, 73’132 spectators came. And most of them are there long before the kick-off because there is something to admire. Not just your own, the Bavarians, no. The best footballer in the world presents himself: Diego Armando Maradona. Napoli is the Argentine world champion in the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup.

And Maradona gives the fans what they want – probably without being aware of it. When, during the warm-up, the hit “Life is Life” by Opus came out of the speakers …
