The Mayor of New York celebrates the vaccination offer as a complete success.
After the metropolis of New York introduced a vaccination incentive of 100 dollars (around 85 euros) at the end of July, around 50,000 people have already accepted this offer. Mayor Bill de Blasio announced this on Thursday and celebrated the offer of municipal vaccination centers as a great success. US President Joe Biden had urged states, counties and municipalities nationwide to offer such a reward.
In total, around 73 percent of all adults in the metropolis of New York with around 8.5 million inhabitants, which had become the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic last spring, are already fully vaccinated. (dpa)
