The Rosental retirement center in Veltheim experienced a violent corona outbreak. Two weeks ago, the home reported that 51 of 105 residents were infected with the virus – almost one in two. There were another 17 cases among the employees. So that no case goes undetected, the Rosental tested the residents a second time.
Another 22 residents tested positive. “Most of them showed no symptoms,” says Sandra Müllhaupt, spokeswoman for the area of age and care. In the meantime the situation has stabilized. The home is still under quarantine. Of the total of 73 infected residents, 51 had recovered. Nine died, one person in hospital. Twelve residents are still in isolation.
