The corona figures are still going in the right direction. This is evident from the preliminary figures on the Sciensano dashboard on Wednesday morning.

In the period from November 22 to 28, an average of 2,305 people a day became infected with covid-19, a decrease of 29 percent.
The average number of deaths also continues to fall: the most recent seven-day average shows 123 deaths per day, a decrease of more than a quarter.
Furthermore, the number of hospital admissions is moving in the right direction. On average, there are now 204 per day, 28 percent lower than the previous seven-day average.
There are now still 3,707 corona patients in the hospital, a decrease of 8 percent compared to the previous period. The number of patients in intensive care units has fallen below 900 at 854, a decrease of 5 percent.
Currently, approximately 29,400 tests are administered per day. That number remains more or less stable. An average of 9.7 percent of all those tests came back positive. On Tuesday, that positivity ratio fell below 10 percent for the first time.
The last known r-value dates from November 30, when it was 0.80. The fact that that figure is below 1 means that the pandemic in our country is shrinking.
