Between 11 and 17 November, an average of 3,939 people in our country became infected with the corona virus every day. That’s a 38 percent decrease from the previous seven-day period. A total of 553,680 people in Belgium have already tested positive for Covid-19. This is evident from the confirmed data from health institute Sciensano on Saturday morning.

Number of infections:
During the same period from November 11 to 17, on average died every day 176.9 people, 13.8 percent less compared to the period before. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 15,352 patients have died from Covid-19 in Belgium.
Between November 14 and November 20, 2,410 lab-confirmed Covid-19 patients were hospitalized and 3,266 left the hospital. There are currently lying according to the most recent figures 5,418 people in the hospital, 1,249 of whom are in intensive care. Between November 14 and 20, there were an average of 344.3 new hospital admissions every day. That is a decrease of 29 percent from the seven days before.
4.5 million tests
Between the beginning of March and November 20, the number of tests performed by the laboratories (the national reference center and the other clinical laboratories conducting the test) increased to 4,581,642 tests. Since April 10, 1,052,013 tests have been carried out by the national testing platform for residential care centers, other residential collectivities and triage centers.
From positiviteitsratio, the number of people who test positive in relation to the total number of tests drops to 17.5 percent.
