“Corona: No More Mask Mandate in Hospitals and Nursing Homes as of May 1st”

From Monday, May 1st, there will no longer be a general obligation to wear masks in hospitals, with doctors, in old people’s or nursing homes.

The state of Carinthia points out that SARS-CoV-2 is still considered a notifiable disease until June 30, 2023. The ten-day traffic restriction for those who tested positive will also remain until June 30th. The free corona vaccination, free Covid-19 medication and free corona tests for symptoms and for high-risk patients will remain in place.

If necessary, protective measures can be taken again

As reported by the Carinthian state hospital operating company KABEG, the obligation to wear an FFP-2 mask for patients, employees and external persons in their hospitals will also fall on May 1st. Depending on the general infection situation, however, protective measures can be taken again if necessary. With regard to visiting regulations, there are no longer any Covid-related restrictions in the KABEG houses. However, KABEG asks you to be considerate of medical and nursing processes as well as fellow patients. In addition, the local specifications of the houses must also be observed here.
