Doctors call for patience when vaccinating

The German doctors called on the population to be patient and considerate from Monday in view of the lifting of the vaccination prioritization in the practices. He expects a “rush to the practices”, said the chairman of the board of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV), Andreas Gassen, of the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung”. Dirk Heinrich, federal chairman of the Virchowbund as the association of resident doctors in Germany, explained in the newspaper: “There is still too little vaccine in the practices. Therefore we have to ask our patients for patience.” Gassen noted that many people had the wrong impression that they could get vaccinated immediately. This is by no means possible. In addition, politicians had given the impression that “children and young people could also be offered the possibility of vaccination as early as next Monday, although the Standing Vaccination Commission did not give a general vaccination recommendation,” he criticized.

So far, no corona-related grade repetitions in Hamburg

The voluntary repetition of the school year due to the corona pandemic is currently not an issue in Hamburg. “So far we have not received any reports from the schools,” said a spokesman for the school authorities. However, one would have to wait for the testimony conferences in mid-June. Nationwide, it is assumed that around a quarter of the around eleven million schoolchildren in Germany have to catch up with learning delays because they were hardly or only poorly reached via distance learning. The federal cabinet has therefore already decided on a two billion euro corona package for tutoring and funding programs as well as social projects. In Hamburg, sitting down was abolished ten years ago and replaced by compulsory subject-related learning support. In this respect, grade repetition is not an issue with Hamburg’s families, said the spokesman.
