29 fatalities in Lower Saxony – incidence is falling
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) today 8,185 new corona infections reported for Lower Saxony (previous day: 9,753; previous week: 11,516). The seven-day incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week, is 539.4 and has therefore fallen. The day before the incidence value was 555.3, on Thursday a week ago it was 697.5. The RKI registered 29 more deaths related to Corona. The number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic is nationwide 9.176.

Incidence in Hamburg falls to 359.7
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the Hamburg corona incidence value has fallen and is 359.7. The day before, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week was 373.4, on Thursday of the previous week it was 457.1. Within one day, 1,658 new cases were added in the Hanseatic city, yesterday there were 784 and the previous week 2,409.
Because the Hamburg social authority stopped publishing the corona data on a daily basis at the beginning of May, the NDR now publishes the current figures from the RKI in the corona ticker every day. The health authority of the Hanseatic city only gives an update on the seven-day incidence and the hospital utilization once a week – on Tuesdays. These data and values may deviate from those of the RKI.

The Federal Constitutional Court decides on the vaccination requirement for nursing care
The Federal Constitutional Court announced today (9.30 a.m.) its final decision on compulsory corona vaccination for nursing and health staff. In February, the judges in Karlsruhe refused to suspend the regulations for the time being. The so-called facility-related compulsory vaccination could therefore be implemented as planned in mid-March.
However, a comprehensive examination of the constitutional complaints was still pending. Even then, the judges critically noted that there was nothing more specific in the law about proof of vaccination and recovery. Reference is only made to a regulation with further references to the websites of the Paul Ehrlich Institute and the Robert Koch Institute. A total of 46 people complained – mostly unvaccinated employees and managers of facilities who want to continue to employ unvaccinated staff.

G7 health ministers discuss future pandemics
The health ministers of the seven leading industrialized countries (G7) are meeting in Berlin today to discuss the fight against global health crises. Future pandemics would have to be recognized more quickly and contained in closer coordination, Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD) had made it clear in advance as the host. Another topic of the two-day meeting will be increasing health problems as a result of climate change. There is also a stronger fight against antibiotic resistance. This year, Germany is chairing the G7 group, which also includes the USA, Canada, France, Great Britain, Italy and Japan.

Corona incidence in Schleswig-Holstein drops to 553.7
The corona incidence in Schleswig-Holstein has fallen to 553.7. A week ago, the value was 724.6. It stands for the number of registered new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days. Due to the declining number of tests, among other things, it must be assumed that not all corona cases will be officially recorded. The number of new infections registered is 3,081, compared to 3,775 a week earlier. There are currently 273 Covid patients in the hospitals (a week earlier: 343). Of them, 27 were treated in an intensive care unit and 12 were ventilated. The districts of Rendsburg-Eckernförde (730.1) and Plön (664.1) reported the highest seven-day incidences. Steinburg now has the lowest incidence with 409.3.

Nationwide 58,719 new corona cases – incidence at 383.2
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has given the nationwide seven-day incidence in the morning at 383.2. The day before, the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week was 407.4 (previous week: 502.4; previous month: 669.9). The health authorities in Germany recently reported 58,719 new corona infections (previous week: 88,961 registered infections) and 165 deaths (previous week: 197) to the RKI within one day. Here, too, comparisons of the data are only possible to a limited extent due to the test behavior, late registrations or transmission problems. In general, the number of registered new infections and deaths varies significantly from weekday to weekday, since more and more federal states do not transmit to the RKI, especially at weekends, and report their cases later in the week.
