The ten thousand first-year students who will start their higher vocational education at Fontys after the summer holidays will have an introductory week as usual. This includes the city days in which students can get to know the city where they are going to study and the popular Purple Festival.

The Purple Introweek, as the week introweek is called, will take place from Monday 23 to Friday 27 August in Tilburg, Eindhoven, Veghel, Den Bosch, Venlo, Sittard and Utrecht. “Now that society is opening up more and more, we are opting for an introduction week on location so that real meeting is possible,” says Joep Houterman, chairman of the Fontys Executive Board.

Less positive scenarios have also been taken into account in the plans for the introduction activities, so that the program can be adapted relatively easily. Real clarity about the program and any measures and guidelines will therefore only be available one week before the start of the introduction week, Fontys emphasizes.
