15.45 1087 new infections, 119 in Brabant
The number of diagnosed corona infections rose by 1087 on Sunday. That equates to 6.2 positive people for every 100,000 inhabitants, the government reports on the so-called corona dashboard.

This means a decrease compared to Saturday, when 1231 infections were detected. That amounted to 7.1 people tested positive for every 100,000 inhabitants. On Wednesday, the corona dashboard reported 1,140 new cases. That was the first time since April that the daily figure exceeded a thousand.

As far as our province is concerned, Central and West Brabant takes the cake with 50 new infections. 43 new infections can be reported in Southeast Brabant and 26 in the Northeast Brabant region; together 119 new corona patients.

The boards of the four carnival associations in Nuenen, Nederwetten and Gerwen have decided not to install a prince (es) Carnival and entourage this carnival season. The hamlets therefore devised a colorful alternative to draw attention to the parade. Various artworks of dahlias are displayed on the Markt. The works of art can be admired on the Market until Wednesday.

For the first time since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, more than 10,000 infections have been diagnosed within 24 hours in France. On Saturday, the old record of 9843 was broken to 10,561, according to figures from the French Ministry of Health.
