How much help is from KfW
Over 470 companies in the counties

New Ulm and Unterallgäu has so far supported the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) with loans during the Corona crisis. The local SPD member of the Bundestag Karl-Heinz Brunner (
Illertissen) and thanked the development bank. According to current figures, the loan volume at the end of the third quarter was just under 150 million euros.
Many companies have received Corona aid from KfW, which of the
Bundestag launched in March. In the district of Günzburg the companies received 55.2 million euros, in the district of Neu-Ulm it was 51.8 million euros and in the district of Unterallgäu 41.8 million euros. The largest share in the entire federal constituency is made up of KfW entrepreneur loans for small and medium-sized companies: loans totaling 127.1 million euros were distributed to 394 companies.
“The KfW loans secure many companies in the region and enable them to survive the pandemic,” said Brunner. According to KfW, around 90,000 loan applications have been received nationwide since KfW Corona aid began on March 23, 2020. A total of more than 45 billion euros have already been made, with 97 percent of applications coming from small and medium-sized companies.
The KfW Corona aid can be provided via local banks and savings banks, which forward the application to the development bank. The loans are secured with 80 to 100 percent by a federal guarantee. A lower interest rate is also guaranteed by the federal government so as not to burden the companies additionally. “With the significant extension of the short-time work allowance until the end of 2021, the ‘Neustart Kultur’ program, November aid for those affected by the current lockdown and other support services, we are helping both companies and employees in this difficult time.” (Zg)
