China has another spike in cases COVID-19. Local transmission cases in Fujian Province, Southeast China, have more than doubled.
Some of the cities experiencing a spike in COVID-19 cases are Xiamen and Putian. The Xiamen government itself asks its citizens not to go outside if it is not essential.
A number of public facilities, such as parks, sports venues, and tourist sites were closed to prevent the spread corona virus. This policy is to anticipate a spike in cases in the midst of the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which is usually the peak of travel throughout China.

The reason is, the spike in COVID-19 cases is thought to have started with the arrival of a man who had just returned from Singapore and developed symptoms after completing a 14-day quarantine, even though he had previously tested negative for COVID-19.
The man’s 12-year-old son and his classmates were reported to be in a cluster of transmission of the Corona virus, shortly after the new school term began. The Delta variant then spread through classrooms, infecting more than 36 children including 8 in kindergartens, local authorities said on Tuesday.

Although 70 percent of China’s population is said to have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, most young children have not been vaccinated. This sparked fears of a spike in cases getting worse in Fujian Province.
